Heritage
Editorial design for Heritage, a book by textile artist Éva Nagy exploring the symbolism and spiritual meaning of the Holy Crown of Hungary. The publication is the result of more than twenty years of personal research into the crown’s history, structure and visual parallels. Nagy interprets the coronation insignia as a complex symbolic system connecting culture, science, art and spirituality. Her study focuses on the fragmented inscriptions and gesture-like communication of the enamel figures, which she reads as part of a hidden language.
This idea informed the book’s typographic and layout concept, built around a symbolic “letter stair” structure. The content is divided into two main parts, marked by distinctive golden pages that guide the reader. Artistic drawings, graphics and paintings created by the author accompany the texts, shaping a contemplative visual narrative about heritage and collective memory.
